Rachmaninov.com is a tribute to Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943), Rachmaninov was a Russian composer who in later life emigrated to America.

Sergei Rachmaninoff was one. He dealt with depression his whole life, but his is a success story. Not only did he mostly overcome his disability, but his management of it fueled his composing. Rachmaninoff’s symptoms were first noticed by his family and friends after the death of his idol, Tchaikovsky, in 1894.

As a young man he consistently amazed his teachers with his jaw-dropping ability as a pianist and composer. He created a storm with his First Piano Concerto when he was just 18. 2. Levensloop.
